Data analysis techniques (Specify the statistical tests to analyze the data.)

The data collected from the participants were analyzed using inferential statistics using one-way ANOVA.

Findings/results (Write the statistical terms to report the findings.)

Table 1 presents the results of ANOVA on students` achievement in a descriptive essay. The results indicate that there was no difference in the achievement of the students in the pretest at 0.957. In the posttest, there was a significant difference in the achievement of the students at 0.01 level of significance.

Table 2 presents the one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The posttest result showed that the experimental group achieved higher grades than the control group at a 0.01 level of significance.

Table 3 presents ANOVA on students` achievement in expository essay writing. The posttest result revealed that the experimental group achieved higher grades after being taught using m-learning. Thus the null hypothesis was rejected at >0.05 level of significance.

The findings of the study revealed that mobile learning has a significant effect on students` achievement in essay writings. All of the three categories of essay writing; descriptive, narrative, and expository essays found to have been influenced by m-learning.
